Bastion - The Mercy Vigil

I beat the game once, but I was not able to get the Mercy Vigil, the one with the 15 types of creatures to defeat.

Anyone had this problem? How do I get it? All the walkthroughs on the net say it comes to you once you fight your way through the game, and is impossible to miss. Are there new foes in NG+ or something?

I don't think I did. I didn't know you could kill her. I kept fighting her, but since she didn't seem to die, I assumed I just had to leave the area, because the skyway was active.

I didn't know she counted as a foe, since it seemed rather a boss fight.

So maybe this is the issue. I have to kill her on NG+.

Yeah, this is probably the one you missed. The method to kill her (and later her kids) is to:

quickly role over her horn, just out of the way, and blast her when she surfaces. She can take a lot of damage, and only stays up very briefly, so you have to do this a lot.

I already knew the method, since it seemed to take damage whenever I did that, but after a while I just got bored and assumed she's indestructible.

Anyway, I defeated her on NG+, and I got the achievement. Thanks!
