I wanted to let the Devs/Publishers know that both of the Demos for the Samantha Swift games are not working in the Steam store. Clicking "PLAY" on the front screen of the game gives you the message "You're 60-minute trial is over". Thank you for your attention.

I just tried out the demo, and both worked for me. What OS are you running?

Win 7. I sent in a ticket to MJ who sent me to Steam, who sent me to MJ again, who sent me back to Steam.
Steam said to run steam as admin, which I tried, but the demos still say my trial is over. My husband tried them, he runs Vista, and he had the same issue. |

My wife has the same problems on a number of Mumbo Jumbo games including two Samantha Swift games and 7 Wonders: Treasures of Seven. OS is Windows 7 32 bit Home edition.
My guess is that when they are building the demos they are using some common code and not correctly updating it to read the registry keys (or other tracking source) for the game demo they are building. As such if you've tried some of their games before it reports as the demo time used, however if someone else tries it who hasn't played any / many of their demos it does work. In my wife's case, they're doing themselves out of some sales they'd otherwise likely make. |

Same problem here, downloaded the demo, installed, click play and it told me my trial is over, never even started once.

For two Mumbo Jumbo games (Luxor and 7 Wonders: Treasure of the Seven), I exited Steam and set it to run in Compatibility Mode (Win XP Service Pack 2). The games started just fine.
I played the first level in each game (you may not have to), exited Steam, and removed the Compatibility Mode and the games run fine. EDIT: After putting my computer in Sleep mode, I had to repeat the process. (I merely started the game rather than playing any of it while in Compatibility Mode - seems fine.)
