Pipboy for PDA slot rather than Misc

As the title says.

I bought a pipboy today and was pretty disappointed to find that it takes up a misc slot rather than the PDA slot. Being as it reskins the PDA menu wouldn't it make more sense for it to be a PDA? Plus it would be nice, as I can keep both my blueprints

Well, in the schema, the Pipboy is set up to have a Strange Quality, so there is a chance for it to be moved into the PDA slot.

Just give it this and I'll be good to go!

Aren't most hats also set up to have a Strange quality?

The thing with the Pip-Boy that's kind of difficult is if it's a PDA, it is a weapon and would drop and be craftable as a weapon. Not doing so would not only be confusing for players, but the schema work arounds would be kind of funny to watch them figure out.

And even if they did make it drop as a hat, but made it a weapon, would we want that? Would we want to spend 4 refined and an engy token and get a weapon out it? I know I wouldn't

I think that animation has been broken for a while and the creator hasn't updated it. It's a pity, it was a great piece of work and I used it myself!

Like ned_ballad said it would be pretty jarring to transfer a hat to weapon status. Better to make a new PDA from the scratch I think.

Couldn't they just make it a weapon with the drop chance of a hat? No one would care what slot it goes in.

Moving it sounds like a good idea, as long as it has an equip_region attached to it so as not to conflict with other items.

Im always reluctant to use mods, just because I'm the only one that can see them and TF2 being all about showing off and the social aspect of the game this doesnt really work for me.

They won't do it until there's any way to prevent it from nosediving or skyrocketing in price.
Namely other weapons in the PDA slot, making it difficult to craft.
