I play Call of Duty. Using "play" to say that while I'm not actively playing it at the moment, I'll still pick it up once in a while and I'll probably buy BO2 eventually.
They're really not as bad as they're made out to be. And what I've really, really never understood is why people say that "the community's terrible." Of the time I've spent with the communities of Minecraft, Call of Duty, and TF2 (Those which I have spent the most time with overall), I would by far choose the Call of Duty community if I were forced to make a choice of which one I'd be locked in a room with for a year. Of course, this may be because this is where the good portion of my CoD community experience comes from, and Wikia communities are usually good anyway, but still. |

There tends to be a more of a Pr0 L33t GTf0 n003zozrs attitude in those games, whereas tf2 is a game that takes more gamsesense and teamwork than individual deathmatch skill and wrist reflexes to be victorious at.

It appears this thread has reached critical moron mass, and is about to explode into a stupidity supernova. I'll see you all on the other side, and may God have mercy on your souls.

Because everyone on the internet apparently feels the need to make themselves superior to someone else. Sure, we're no BF3 Hammer Legion Members, we don't act like the games we enjoy are perfect and anyone who disagrees is a pleb. And yet, SPUF seems to reserve the right to complain about how everything in TF2's gone to hell with trader greed, new weapons changing the way people play, "ruining the art style," while still maintaining we're superior because we play it.
To be fair, the TF2 community gives CoD a heck of a lot less flak than many others (aforementioned BF3, and Tribes seems to be elitists abound), though the direction it's being led by activision probably caused people to lose their faith in the franchise. As for me, I'm giving the next Blops a fair chance. It looks like it'll actually bring something new to the table, and if they do succeed in bringing CoD to an actually exciting comp scene, I will love Treyarch, and hopefully, enough people will give it a fair try that the PC community might actually accept, if not respect it. |

Half of SPUF is from /v/, where they look on everything they don't like as "casual" or "the cancer killing gaming" (and even things they DO like on occasion).
The other half hate it because they're not from /v/, but have the same thought process about it. Plus, balance issues. |

I only really liked mw 3 cus of kill confirmed. The problem is that EA has tried to copy COD and turn the once mighty Battlefield into it's clone

When it comes right down to it, Call of Duty started out as a fairly serious, and difficult at times to play game that rewarded actual teamwork in multplayer, and also for the first time, gave you an actual reason to keep friendly bots in singleplayer alive instead of murder them for their weapons.
By the second game in the series, pretty much everything that made Call of Duty unique or fun was gone. You got regenerating health, teamwork became at most a thought experiment, and as the graphics improved, the fan base became ever more immature and in many cases, deliberately going out of their way to be unpleasant. I still play some of the games, but it's single player only now. A shame really, COD came to that. It once was a very good series, with a passionate, but decent fan base, and accessible team based multiplayer. Now it's just 12 year olds competing to see how many times they can use aimbots without getting banned, while using various 4 letter words completely out of a meaningful context. |
