EDIT: Im working on the parish, but after i do that, im just going to download it and get thta one achievement, and thats it

Well, IMO, the VAC doesn't relate to the SAM policy, because it has to do with the Achievements. If it ever had to do with the in-game cheats, like what happened with a lot of cheats and the advantage of the glitches in their favor, of course, they'd get banned.

The games are to be enjoyed, not to be cheaters.

I recently used the SAM to unlock the last 2 achs I couldn't find anybody willing to help me out, because in the case of "Professor Portal" Achievement of Portal 2, I'd have to find a noob to help me out, but in my case, it'd be to find a needle in the straws(this famous idiom, if anyone understood me).

I'm of those who want to achieve the achievements fairly to prove that the game is worth a shot for anyone to try it till I reach 100%, but when I can't find anybody to help me out, I used the SAM to have the last 2 achs as achieved to keep going on.

Besides, I like the hard and competitive puzzles.

What does the SAM author about the possibility of being VAC banned?
Quote:
Will I get banned for using this?

Improbable.

Troubleshooting:
I WAS VAC BANNED

Dumbass.
That isn't much of a warranty for me...

Yup, I believe it's covered in the SSA under the following paragraph:
Quote:
You are entitled to use the Software for your own personal use, but you are not entitled to:
(ii) host or provide matchmaking services for the Software or emulate or redirect the communication protocols used by Valve in any network feature of the Software, through protocol emulation, tunneling, modifying or adding components to the Software, use of a utility program or any other techniques now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose including, but not limited to network play over the Internet, network play utilizing commercial or non-commercial gaming networks or as part of content aggregation networks, websites or services, without the prior written consent of Valve;

It could get your account suspended if you spam on the forums yelling "I UNLOCKED EVERYTHING WITH SAM PLEASE SUSPEND ME" but it wont get you VAC-banned if you have no VAC secured game running at the same time (I know of a few people that got all gmod achievements long ago and they are still without a single VAC-ban).

Has been posted several times now and yet these topics keep coming, search.

And for the record I've got all in Just Cause 2. Why the hell would you wanna take away the fun of actually doing all that fun stuff, and take away the fun of knowing you did something more or less skillful?
Do you have any friends whatsoever that dont play games as serious as you might play them?

My god, this was discussed HUNDRETS OF TIMES! SAM is being exist from 2007, if valve would want to do something, they would do it already. They are not so slow not to do anything FOR 5 FREAKIN' YEARS!
IT IS COMPLETELY SAFE!

An example from Germany:
It was completely safe to obtain electrical current for free from other people without their permission for numerous years since thievery only applied to movable objects. Then a law was passed that explicitly forbid that.

So the reason that it was safe for years does not mean it will be safe forever.
And there were people completely suspended for cheating achievements in the christmas sale (although in that case that also constituted a criminal action, namely fraud).

You cannot get a VAC ban for something that does not utilise the VAC system... that's kinda obvious. Since singleplayer games do not require any form of connection, then there's no real point in asking the question at all.
This is a VAC forum for VAC related discussion, your topic is specifically about products which do not utilise VAC? Not reslly sure what the point is...
