Game Studdering?

Both the games I bought today (Payday and Magicka) have this problem. The game skips and studders really badly (Payday is unplayable). Is it because I have a crappy gfx card (Note: this is the first time this has happened), and is anyone else having this problem?

EDIT:
Forgot these, sorry!

Windows 7 64 bit
AMD Athlon II X2
4gb DDR3 Ram
ATI Radeon HD 4250

I might just have to update my drivers, I'll try that and post results.

We can't answer if you don't tell us what the card (and your other system specs) are, silly!

Yes, it's your video card...

Try rolling back drivers to Catalyst 12.3 or even further back to 12.1, who knows!

Have you tried changing all settings to low quality?

Are you on a laptop?

I don't know anything about Payday, but Magicka can have some bugs in certain rigs.

There's a massive slowdown/possible crash in one chapter of a huge city, nearly makes fighting impossible if you have the bug. I think it was patched out, but I'm on a different PC now so I can't reliably check. Some people had the slowdown/crash in more places than just that one fight.

I think that was just more of an in game bug with certain GFX cards or setups. I can't remember tbh.

I think your graphics card is not in update version and these games support high quality drivers and processors. so if your run your games on your pc then pc may updated.

I had this problem once while playing TF2 and Assassin's Creed. Turns out there was tons of dust in my PC. Might want to get a can of air and clean that box out.
