Strange chat bot on steam?

This guy keeps sending me religious messages, I thought it was just some fanatical Christian spreading the word via steam, but when you talk to it, it starts spitting random facts at you, and checks your spelling.

Anyone encountered this sort of thing before?

thats odd. ive never seen that kind of thing on steam before. he/she has a lot of aimbot screenshots on his/her profile though. in this one you can clearly see people complaining about how he/she is hacking and constantly changing names.

This isn't a religious discussion, seems this cheat has a spambot as well that works on steam chat.

So if you abuse him for cheating you get a religious sermon. At least they had a sense of humour.

Perhaps Valve can block it somehow.

This bot account has VAC bans I believe, looks like it's relegated to chat trolling now.

This bot sent me a chat invite a couple weeks ago and spammed me with religious messages. When I told him to, you know... F off...
It started to talk about sex, and linking to porn...

I added to the plethora of comments on his profile, then reported to Steam.

The spelling corrector. It's pretty much a confirmation it is a bot. It lists the mistakes in an entire sentence in a matter of seconds.

It's easily possible that there is a script running to correct the spelling of any incoming chat, but that a human is typing the other outgoing responses.

I thought it was weird that the person talking to the bot/person got angry at him, saying "when are you going to link me to the free steam games website" and "find something better to do with your time than scam people on Steam" when that's not what he's doing. Was it an attempt to trigger a response so he could report it?

This bot has sent me messages for almost a month, definitely some of his answers are 100% human replies.

The fact that it would reply immediately, it was faster than I could even read the message I just sent. That and the spelling correction.

If you're interested then you should add the bot and start talking to it. Most of it's responses are on par with Clever Bot.
