Steam user account hacked

Ok, this is not my account im reporting but its my best freind. Hes had a bad record of accounts hacked since hes joined steam because he buys lots of games so hes a prime target for hackers. But hes told me about 3-4 of his accounts have been hacked and hes spent like over $1,000 in buying his games back. But this time im still freinds with his old account and who ever hacked it has changed the name to Puli1337#HAKES the old name was Honey Badger and alot others. His new account is Epic Salad (call me mabye) i just think that his hacked account should be removed so who ever hacked it wont have his games that he payed for. And if you dont listen to me thats ok send a email to him asking if this is valid you will get a responce of yes.
My current name is:LoneZebra

Talk about bad account security on your friend's part. Why did your "friend" not try to reclaim his account before making a new one again and again and again...?

Steam support is your friend.

Anyways, unless his steam accounts are VAC banned, I don't see what this has to with Valve Anti Cheat.

Reclaiming a Hijacked Steam Account

According to this page, you can also use your credit card info. If paypal was used, then you'll give them your Paypal info.

I don't know how much damage has been done, but tell your friend this asap.

Also, tell him to use steam guard and to reset his email account password.

That is some BAD account security. If you're friend has been hacked so many times I bet he has a key logger on his comp.

Thats a really strange way of creating causality.
"Being prime target leads to getting hacked."

Until today i thought, getting hacked would have to do with lack of security.
What is the limit that i can have spent before my account will get hacked?

Your friend has to contact support, you cannot do this for him.

We cannot help you or him, this is a user based forum.

You misunderstood my little irony

Look, yesterday i saw people posting their account contents and values. There were some very high amount accounts among them.
But they will not get hacked/hijacked just by people knowing it.

Losing an account is based on mistakes or holes. (Holes wouldnt hit your friend 4 times before the forum was filled with loads of stories).
I did not need to lose my account once to know enough for preventing it.
Your friend lost (4) accounts and still is making mistakes.

Tell your friend: "You dont need to make mistakes to learn from them. Read, be carefull, prepare, play!"

And he should try to get all the accounts back.
I am not sure, is he just very rich.... or not smart....

I believe your friend needs to take a good, log read at this.
And taking a read of this thread won't hurt him either.

Read, learn, and follow what those threads say.

Your friend should follow Manuel859's link to try to recover his accounts, there is enough info there to know what he can provide as PoP.

And i agree with the rest, unless there is a VAC ban related incident, this is more fitting to the Help & Tips subforum.

How does one get his account stolen that many times? I highly doubt he was actually hacked, more likely he was phished and keeps falling for it over and over again, or he has a keylogger.

if your friends account keeps getting hijacked tell him to do this

1: let him contact support and ask him to reclaim his account send him this link for instructions
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...2347-qdfn-4366

2: while he waits for steam support to reply let him scan his pc for any virusses he probably has a keylogger or something else that keeps accessing his account probable from a hack or a scam to get free steam games he used to have installed

3: let him make a gmail account
gmail security is top notch as it uses a cell phone verifacation it will send a text message to your cell phone with a code if a person tries to acces his account through his email and he needs to entert that code he can't do anything

4: when he get his account back
- let him change his password, contact email and let him turn steamguard on
