Lego Batman 2: This game is currently unavailable (Unspecified Error)
Well I've had this error for a couple of days now. I live in the USA, I paid for the game, I downloaded it, but whenever I click play, it just gives me this.
Anyone have any ideas? |

Have you tried to verify the integrity of the game's cache? You have to right-click on the game's title, select "Properties" and then the "Local Files" tab. You'll see the option there.
This is a common error when a file is not correctly downloaded. Steam should check for wrong files and repair them. |

And if that doesn't help, you may want to exit Steam then go into your Steam folder and delete or rename the following two files:
ClientRegistry.blob AppUpdateStats.blob |

I checked the integrity of the cache, and it kept telling me one file failed to validate, and it would redownload it, over and over.
I closed and reopened steam as well as resetting the PC and that didn't help unfortunately. So I went to the steam folder and deleted those files. I started steam up and it updated. I went to my library and clicked play on lego batman 2 and got the same error again. Checked the integrity of the cache again too, same deal there.

The next thing to try is to fully uninstall and redownload the game.

I think you might have a hard drive problem here. Have you used a scandisk software to check for errors in the drive? I had a similar problem some time ago in my old PC. No matter how many times I tried to download and install a game, I'd get an installation error, and it turned out the hard drive had bad sectors.
As an alternative (which I honestly have no idea if it's going to work) you might try to delete the LEGO Batman 2 files, download another Steam game to fill the bad sectors and then re-download LEGO Batman 2, which might then get installed in good sectors. I'm honestly shooting blindfolded with this one, I have no idea if that's how hard drive space is used. Though I still recommend to check your hard drive for bad sectors before doing anything else. |

Alright, I did the scandisk thing and it turns out I have no bad sectors, everything is 100% in working order.
I still haven't been able to play this a month and a half after release. Do you think steam will give me my money back if I fill out a ticket? |
