Report violation - do they really check users?
Hello.
I have a question - do Valve check the user if you report him for violation, like when somebody is cheating and gets reported? Do they check some logs or something and ban people? |

Well, in the past few days I saw 2 wallehackers in CS:GO and 1 in Source. Does playing with a hack means they have a vac-safe cheat or that's the way of the anticheat - let's them play and bans them later? In this way of thoughts does reporting a cheater help something? Like manually checking vac log files or something.

Cheat reports are used by VAC to scan harder/more frequently the reported player's activity. So yes, reports are taken into account. It's just that a ban cannot be issued based solely on reports. Unfortunately there are private hacks that can go above a ACS (Anti Cheat Software)... They end up being detected and added to the database. Cheat fighting is a lot like Virus fighting, you can't catch them all always. |
