Long range accuracy problem

I am fairly new at this game and love playing mount and blade warband napoleonic wars multiplayer , recently join a group in line battle and notice most of the time require to shoot long range. I fair decently ok at close range and melee , but find my self totally off shooting at long range. I have seen a few players in public server had been killing quite a number of people at very long range some even score at top rank killing at long range.

My question here is how do I aim for long range ? Do I aim the round cursor way above head or just a bit pass the head ? My target size is roughly 3 dots of my middle aim cursor.

Is there any tutorial out there that I can refer to train better at shooting long range ?

When in line battle the more experience group always take out more of us then we do to them, surely they must have learn how much above head to shoot on a target to at least hit in range.
