Nvidia card problem
Hi, starting from today, I've been having some strange problems. Whenever I start a game or even a Youtube video, either my PC either freezes and requires a manual restart, or the screen goes blank for a few seconds.
When it freezes, sometimes I get the "blue screen of death", but when it goes blank, the following message appears: Windows 7 - Nvidia windows kernel mode driver version 301.42 stopped responding. Yes, I've found other people with the same problem (even on different Nvidia cards) but no luck so far. http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-c...esponding.html Is anyone else having this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My PC specs: Windows 7 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz RAM: 6GB Video card: Nvidia GTS 250 |

Have you tried updating the video drivers? Uninstall the existing ones, reboot, then reinstall the latest ones, reboot.

Thank you guys. Looks like I'm stupid and forgot to uninstall the old drivers and do a "clean install" before. I updated it again and also reduced the resolution (1680x1050 to 1280x800) and it looks like the crashes stopped.
I'm somewhat scared to increase the resolution though, but at least it's working. Thanks again and +rep to both. |
