Mountain Lion FM2012
I am not sure whether this issue is limited to FM2012 on my MacBook Pro Retina or whether the issue is widespread.
Since the last Steam client two days ago, every time I start FM2012 the screen is displaced and unplayable. I have tried all settings in display preferences. No luck. This only started with the last update. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it before my withdrawal symptoms become apparent?

I tried them all. Same result. The game window just moves into different areas depending on the display pref setting.
It is never centered as it should be and was before the last update. |

Have you tried defragging and/or verifying the game cache yet to see if that fixes any problems?

Hey bro!
I have exactly the same issue here! Furthermore, it has also affected another game I have from Steam - Witcher Enhanced Edition - this game doesn't even show any video, yet you can hear the sound of intro movie and of the main menu. Everything was working flawlessly on Mountain Lion until this recent update, clearly it messed something with video and I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've tried every possible solution I've found on this forum, I even totally erased everything related to Steam, including the actual games - and reinstalled everything from scratch - still stayed the same. Who be very grateful if anyone would help! Or at least, when is the next update coming out, may be it'll fix it? |

I've heard of some people getting some games to run in ML by setting the lowest resolution possible and lowest effects possible.

The game runs. Always has. But since this last client update, the screen is off center and mouse and menus don't synchronise...

I'm having exactly the same issue having just got a MacBook Pro with retina display. I'm not sure whether it's Mountain Lion or the new display but the game is now unplayable because of the screen being off center.

Frankly these issues are putting me off Steam. They "update" the client, and BOOM, your favourite game is unplayable until they decide to fix it. Could take weeks.

Any update on this or are we Retina users expected to dump our investment in Games?

Same here - bought FM2012 with NO MENTION that it did not work on MBP Retina. Wasted money? Would be nice ton know if this issue is being dealt with, or if we have to wait for 2013. For that matter, will 2013 have the same issue with retina display?

Possibly because MBP Retina didn't exist at the time the game was released, and the description was written?

It's a bit disappointing that this thread has been up for nearly a month and there hasn't been any kind of response from Steam. Even a 'we're looking into the problem and will come back to you' would be nice.
