He gave items and he's F2p! WTF

only things a f2p can trade are store bought and tools (paint and name/description tags). anything else is bound to you until you become premium.

If he bought any item in the store, then he's got an official premium account and trading rights. Also, if he receives items in a trade, he can trade away those items with a F2P account.

Buying something from the Mann Co. store automatically upgrades your TF2 from F2P to Premium, no matter how much you spend there. Even an item for 30 cent will do the trick. Been like that ever since the game went F2P.

Don't forget he can also trade away items that were traded/gifted to him.

If i give a weapon to a F2P player, he can trade it away without problems.

By the way, if I pre-order a game that gives me TF2 items, would these become tradable with a F2P account?

this is incorrect

any f2p can trade ANY item traded to them.

i have a friend that is still f2p and hes already trading mid tier unusual hats... yeah hes got something to prove.
