This is just a quick question:
I know that there is a cap at 1 medic and 1 demo per 6v6 team. Something about wanting to speed up the pace of play by reducing the amount of healing and area denial. What I want to know is, if this class cap didn't exist, what would the team consist of? Thanks in advance for your input! |

Yeah. Without the class limits the game would be nothing but demospam.

I seem to remember a clip on well, with 2 heavys, 2 medics and 2 demos... Not good times. Since you can't ever push without uber, boring as hell. |

by the time you have four demos, the weaknesses of a single demo are cancelled out by the other three. scout? well, there are a max of 32 stickies strewn across the battlefield, he'd get nowhere near close to the demos. sniper? he'd need to charge his shot, which is enough time for one or two demos to bomb him. no other class gets even close to damaging a single one of the demos. combined with two meds, they'll all maintain buffs easily and a team can even potentially do a kritz+uber demo push, which would be monstrous. if both teams had this setup, the game would literally be decided by pills and a team would never push even a little without an uber. No more "demo down, no more sticky traps" now there's a sticky trap in every place you can think of and four pills are flying at your face all the time.

Before the limits, the teams basically looked like 1-2 medics, 2-3 demos and the remainder being made up of whatever class your team figured would be best for covering the demos (soldiers, scouts, sometimes heavies).
It made for a very slow game. |

I think ETF2L Radio has casted some but I don't know if they saved them. (But yeah, there were no any vods because nobody weren't even thinking about streaming at that time)
