Unhappy Trouble with making of a item for steam workshop

Hi there steam users, Yesterday, I just decided to make a weapon for the steam workshop (for TF2). Even I'm not a advanced 3d modeller, but I managed to make the model and texture it.

Before I continue, you must know that I use autodesk 3ds max 2013 for modelling. Also, I don't know if this is the proper forum section to post my trouble, I hope it is.

Well, I used this tutorial (Youtube video) to make the model. About the minute 10:30 of the video, he uses a reference .sdm file for comparing to his model to see if a rescale must be done. Here is the fun: to import .sdm files to 3ds max you need a plugin, but the plugin is only updated to 3ds max 2012 and I have 2013. With my actual internet conection I can't download the 3 GB that 3ds max 2012 is weight.
I googled about for 2 hours to found a fix for this or an updated plugin, also searched about turning .sdm to .obj (.obj can be edited with 3ds max 2013) but nothing.
I request help and I hope that you help me

P.S: Sorry if I have writing mistakes (I'm not Anglophone)
