No music in AC2?

I bought AC2 yesterday, and I've been through a decent amount of fights against guards, and killed my first target. The weird thing is, in all these fights I'd expect some type of music to be played, but the music stops playing completely. When a fight starts, the peaceful background music goes silent and I'm left in silence fighting guards. I feel like there's something wrong with the game, because this kind of ruins the whole experience for me. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Try verifying your game cache maybe?

I did it, but to no avail. I forgot to mention my game runs kind of slow. It's not completely unplayable, but it's not exactly smooth, especially during fights in crowded places. Might that have anything to do with it?

Hmm.. it sure sounds a computer client problem, but not sure if its hardware or driver-caused. what are your specs?

Hey ShinigamiGuy, have you tried running the game in Safe-Mode? I had a few issues like save data lost, no music and even no sound at all!... and they got fixed by starting the game in safe mode exiting then executing again normally.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks guys, I managed to solve the problem with Stark's suggestion. Didn't even know that option existed.
