Super Crate Box "dll not detected"

Is anyone else who's played this game getting an error message on the main menu that says "dll not detected, scores won't upload"? I don't see any .dll files in the game folder, but when I verified the files through Steam everything checks out o.k.

Looks to have a lot of issues. Shows mac compatibility but when you try to install it alerts you its only for windows. Hope they fix all these issues soon.

The .dll is in the DRM free download at their main site, just download it, copy-paste the file into your steam folder and voila, it's fixed

Yeah, this seemed to do the trick, at least with the dll error. Kind of a bizarre problem. The file needed from the official site download is "downloaddll.dll"

Yeah .. I'm not "jumping through hoops" to get a game working.

If the devs can't get it right I'm not interested in their game.

How do you forget an important file? Unacceptable to me.

Also the screen goes black after being on the title screen for 3 seconds. Might be from the missing DLL but not sure.

I'll uninstall and move on now.

It has nothing to do with entitlement ..

I shouldn't have to goto other places to get files to make a game work... simple as that.

When they get their together maybe I'll look again at their game ..

Until them I'll go play something else.

"I shouldn't have to"

That sounds like entitlement to me, and a very overreactive one considering the .dll file is at the dev's website itself

Super entitlement. It's a 28 mb file. A free 28 mb file.

Man, I'd love to have seen this Sepioth tool try to play games back in the old days. The fight to get the thing running was half the fun!

Weeded out the whiny little morons, too...

I don't care if the game is free or not. Having to go to a developer site and download something to make a game work as intended is annoying. It's not entitlement. It's expecting what you download to work properly.

I just tried the fix. I jumped through the hoops, and it was worth it.

The game works perfectly, with no dll errors.
Thanks so much.
