This foggy screen is cause of buymenu, if you want to remove it, just type "buymenu 0" in console, instead of disabling post processing which will lead to no effects in demo.

What command do you use to start the demo?

playdemo lets me play the demo perfectly, but I can't get the slider up to fast forward into the demo.

And is there any way of getting the killfeed back in the demo?

to fast forward use "demo_timescale 2,3,4,5", default is "demo_timescale 1", which is realtime. You can also "demo_pause", "demo_resume" etc.

The answer is no. While playing demo, every command is recorded, so basically every time you went to buymenu in real game, the "buymenu 1" command is engaged, so the same goes with the demo, everytime you went to buy menu, when you pressed "B" you actually set "buymenu" to "1" and in that point in demo, your screen goes to fog.

Yeah, it would be nice to fastforward and rewind demos. I'd like to be able to do that with the overwatch system, for example. It's a demo file, and if you restart, you can fast forward to a certain point, but you can't rewind. I don't see the point in having demo facilities when they don't work at all.
