is origin safe now?

As i am sure you all know when origin launched it was highly Controversial due to it effectively spying on your computer, EA claim they made some adjustments, but i still dont trust it, but i would like to buy BF3 or ME3 sometime, does anyone who uses origin know if those privacy issues have been sorted out now?
any info is useful thankyou. Especially since most of the stuff on google is from last year.

EDIT: Is that link only for the webpage or Origin client? I don't know..
Download Origin client, read the tos on install phase, decline and unistall if you don't agree with it.

Ya, I would be afraid the FBI will be knocking down my door because EA is collecting data on me like the as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Blizzard, Valve and most everyone else is doing. You should be more afraid of Goolge and Facebook as they use the information to target you.

Offtopic but I always wonder why people are so concerned about privacy on Facebook while at the same time they themself post their life to whole world to see.

You can never be sure, even when you are assured about these things, they have a habit of finding out years later that there were other issues etc...
Your Best bet at the moment is to try to block sensitive areas of you PC with your antivirus or store in virtual Folders, external USB drives etc before you use origin games.

It was never as bad as people made it out to be in the first place. It's like the recent Steam EULA changes that caused a major uproar over nothing at all.

I don't have anything to hide, but that doesn't mean I condone people spying on me and prying into my personal business.

In response to SOPA, or ACTA or whatever they are calling it now, I say "If the government want complete access to our personal data, email accounts etc. then we should have complete access to theirs" If they don't agree, ask them what they have to hide...

On topic, Origin isn't a bad program...it's just that EA are not a company I want to financially support because their business practices are horrible.

Origin gave my cat a bowl of antifreeze and replaced my girlfriend's birth control pills with M&M's.

And I have many Origin horror stories too, such as when it tried to pawn my guitar and when it sent pictures of me with my girlfriend to my other girlfriend, plus dozens more.

A little bit here and a little bit there, bit's and pieces from Facebook, twitter, Steam, origin,...it all adds up, information is $$$
