Need help with Func_breakable_surf CS:GO

Hello everybody.

Ive found that when trying to create realistic glass, the shatter texture does not work. Breakable glass works for me in all levels whenever I play.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

To quote my previous thread on the matter:

Quote:
Figured it out via console- Upon breaking, it would give this message:

Requesting texture value from var "$detail" which is not a texture value (material: maps/timberland_v2/forerunner_customs/fore_glass_crack_-13952_2048_512)

So all you have to do is make sure it has the same value as "$basetexture" in the "$detail" slot.
Be sure to use the Search feature, chances are someone has had the same problem!

I dont receive an error message in console when I break it. I am using the exact material as used in cs_office.

PS: I did a search. Nobody has posted this issue ( other are about custom glass and other source games)

Post the VMT, and make sure the folder names are the same between the textures.

Where do I find this? I haven't used a single custom texture yet, only stock ones.

In that case, is that texture meant to be breakable? Only ones with the correct VMT are.

Yes I am aware. I am using the same texture as used in the cs_office breakable windows.

First of all... you must nodraw every face, then apply the glass on a visible face on ONE face only.

It should work, then.

I have also done this. Still happens.
I have also tried verifying game integrity and cache etc..

I have found the only glass texture that works with func_breakable_surf and CS:GO is this one "glass/prodwndwa" have you tried that one?

Thank you! This worked. But it still leaves the question to as why does the shattering glass work in cs_office and no other level?
