No forums tab?

Why is the forums tab on the steam community page missing?

HOME PROFILE FRIENDS GROUPS INVITES GAMES WORKSHOP FORUMS?

Well it's not really missing since it is already in the page header (STORE COMMUNITY NEWS FORUMS ABOUT SUPPORT STATS).

Besides, all the menu items you mentioned link to pages that are under the steamcommunity.com domain. Putting a forum link there wouldn't really make any sense

I see but the only way to go from (main) steam to the forums is via the view dropdown menu.
Maybe I am overlooking something but if not,
I feel an more obvious way is missing (especially for newer users)
I am surprised the forums seem tucked a way a bit I quess =)

I think he means it's not in the actual Steam, not the website. I would like to see a forums tab in the future

It's on the old menu:

"STORE Community NEWS FORUMS ABOUT SUPPORT STATS"

but, it's also linked on the DISCUSSIONS tab in the client.

"Looking for the old forums?
They're still available at
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/"

If making consistant navigation across all of Steam is not important, then no, it doesn't make any sense at all. The Forums tab appears only when on the Forums already, Click on Store and poof, it is gone.

Everyone knows they are mucking around with the links in order to force people to use the poorly layed out "Discussions" area. Please do not patronize people by pretending like there is nothing going on.

Thanks!

Right-clicking a game and clicking on "Forums" takes me to this rubbish "Discussions" area instead of the actual forums. This is horrible.

Meanwhile, you can get to the real forums by going to http://forums.steampowered.com.

Yeah, count me in. This is stupid. The new "hub" thingy is basically okay, they can try a few things there, but there was absolutely no need for that "discussions" thingy, because that's what the forums are for: discussions!!! Plus that new discussions thingy is basically only an unorganized message board of spam. They had better end this nonsense and re-link the real forums soon.

Now there is no link to the forum(!!!): Screenshot.

Steam is really sticking to the KIS rule Now to get to the forum you need to klick on the "Community => Discussions => Looking for the old forums?". Yaaaaay - NOT! Get it together Steam.

There is actually a quicker way to get the forum link:

Do a google search for "[game title] steam forum" and you will easily get a working forum link. That's what I'm doing until Valve have fixed the broken forum links.

Another pain is that the "discussions" thingy; does not recognize my old "forums" user name and password...figure the sense behind the thinking of that, if you can.

I really don't enjoy that clicking the forums link on pages / library is now taking me to the discussions rather than the forums. I have no interest in using the discussions on the new community.

If you're really going to force it and I click the forums button on a game in my library, it should open in Steam itself. Not the web browser.

That 'discussions' thingy is in Steam. You need to log into the steam community with your steam account name and steam password.

The forums have always been separate and held on separate databases, whereas this is part of steam. Technically, the 'discussions' in the menu is just another 'group' in steam.

This is their way of suffocating the forums to its eventual death.
