PC Modding forum
Hey
For all you PC modders (i mean case modders) I want to start a pc case mod project but i want to make a better fan/heatsink setup for my graphics card as well as modding my case or making one from scratch. Is it effective to make your own heat pipes and get a big enough heatsink to attach to the GPU and then get a few fans and either run them from the psu or gfx card itself say if i wanted to try run 3 fans on a single gtx 570 using a 3 pin to 3 pin Y splitter (or even just 2 fans) and make a small enclosure for the fans to sit in and attach to the heatsink, or will that just simply not work and slowly or quickly kill my graphics card, its not factory OCed at all its a reference card but i just want to make a better gpu cooling system than the standard one coz it runs my gpu to hot. Also what sort of things to i need to worry about if im making a case from scratch via the mobo part like aluminum would be my first choic at a back plate to attach the mobo to with the coop or w.e screws that came with the case/mobo. Any with any other component is there any risks involved if using aluminum for the interior of the case and then steel to plastic outside.. Any help would be most appreciated Or if theres anyone in the Adelaide area that is considering doing a case modding protected p.m. me ![]() Thank you in advance |

These really aren't the forums for this type of thing.

I meant these forums as a whole are not appropriate. There are many websites and forum dedicated to case modding. One of those would be much better suited for this discussion.

Try looking Tomshardware.com, Extremeoverclocking.com, Hardfourm.com, hardwarecanucks, Frostytech for guides and info on proper cooling and case flow. |

So your modding is clearly frowned upon by any valve personnel. |

as for modding cases well its not illegal to mod a case that you bought mind you its not illegal to mod anything on your computer unless your trying to reflash your gfx card to a higher model then yeah that could be classed as illegal. |
