As an previous owner, I understand how frustrating this can be. For current owners now, it is a bigger problem. This can all be fixed by one simple thing. +1 for supporting this idea. FIX IT! This needs more attention! +1 from Titz-N-Beer

Thumbs up

I agree that this feature should be implemented.
As a former community "owner" and server manager I know the troubles of getting your players back after upgrading to a new service. This would make it much easier for server owners to keep their community together.

Also wanted to point out, a lot of server owners are replying but this issue affects the players too.

You'll probably find that when servers disappear from your favourites list, it's almost always down to a server IP change. The servers would never disappear from your friends list unless they were actually down if valve support DNS.

I still think this is a good idea, but spam is not good :X
*Shrug* I know someone linked this thread on his steam announcements page, so it's possible people are signing up just to reply.

I sent out a steam message to the close to 13,000 players in my Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/firefriendly

I also offered a small compensation for those who took the time to reply. I don't think there is anything wrong with that as it isn't as easy as just making a account and posting. You have to wait a day for a Mod to approve you, and most people don't have that kind of dedication if you know what I mean. But they all read and understood the content I assure you as I spoke to each of them personally.

Yes, Valve has come in on numerous occasions and said so themselves.

Anyway, this is important. You have a valvesoftware domain in the list but if it doesn't save as an actual domain then it gives a false impression.

Feeling the need to raise this issue again as I'm now having to purchase additional IP addresses to run more servers, when all I should need is one address and a few SRV records,

Minecraft can even do this, why not valve?

With all the updates with CS:S lately you would think something like this would get looked into.
