obviously you must have a good cooler as well. as the stock fan is pretty terrible for overclocking.

Like that case, nearly bought one for my rig (the Li i wanted hit a sale), so 8.2/10.
Hazzah, just today finished my fairly uber rig a few weeks sooner than anticipated. Just in time for Black Mesa. CPU Intel i7 3820 (evo 212 cooler w/ push & pull, as5) MB Asus P9X79 Standard RAM 32GB gskill 8-8-8-24 GPU 2*6950 both unlocked to 6970 PSU 1000w Xion SSD 2*256GB Adata raid 0 HDD 2*1TB raid 0 Lian Li PC100 (the backwards case.. love this thing) Tek Republic mouse, Logisys white backlit keyboard I know WEI is largely useless, but still feels fun. 7.9 all but cpu (7.7). I'll try overclocking at some point. 11498 32bit tryout for Geekbench (my old c2q was only 5k-ish iirc) *edit* I should have done this upgrade sooner. Converting my DVD library to Plex (kids w/ their messy fingers) via Handbrake.. 500 avg fps vs 115 avg fps for my old c2q 9550. *pleased* Last edited by pbassjunk: 09-14-2012 at 08:47 PM. |

It may even be higher, I've marked others higher as they included peripherals, sound cards, loop details, monitor(s)...etc Also, is the CPU watercooled too? |
