Time Zones

This might be a stupid question but I live in the Central Time zone and I noticed on the store page the counter said 11 hours to release (12am Central time). I changed my download region to Atlanta and then the store page said 10 hours. Does this mean that release time depends on your download region and that I can play Borderlands 2 an hour before midnight (Central)?

for the last week, the timer has indicated the release will be at 12 AM eastern time, 11 PM central time.

I am in the central time zone and the timer does not change at all if I change my download region. whether I choose Seattle or Atlanta, it still says 10 hours for me.

Well that's a first for me, lotsa games I've pre-ordered in the past have their official release based off pacific time. Not that I'm complaining though as 12am eastern time will be 9pm for me. More time to play before heading off to sleep for work.

Yup, saying "10 hours" for me as well. I assume that means 10 hours, wherever you are.

It is based on your IP not the download region.

^ IP tells where you are. Download region is just what you assigned your Steam account where to download from. So you can download Borderlands 2 from New York, but it won't do anything and only make your download slower since its farther.

Simply put, it has no connection to release times.

12:00AM Eastern
11:00PM Central
10:00PM Mountain
9:00PM Pacific

Unless for some weird reason its 12:00AM for each region, which would be odd.
