There's no consensus about it.

This is blatantly false. Also personally I feel cs:go movement is pretty good, you can stop almost faster then 1.6 and much faster then css(in non+airaccel servers) by tapping opposite key.

There is no prestrafe, if you try to prestrafe and jump you will jump as long as you jump straight forward.

Only way of jumping longer is to strafe in air.

Lets say that i can strafe 240 units in CSGO.

While in CS 1.6 we got prestrafe. So i can get my prestrafe up to 276. 256-258 with the prestrafe and the airmovement.

In CSGO your prestrafe is 250, it doesnt get higher. So you cant jump like in 1.6

Thats the point with this thread. Fixing the movement.

I'd love to see the air movement & jumping mechanics in GO greatly improved

I made a video comparing default sv_airaccelerate in GO with sv_airaccelerate 100: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LArunvKbIHQ&feature=plcp

sv_airaccelerate 100 gives you so much air control with no downsides at all

If you don't know what made 1.6 movement so great, look to the far extreme opposite : BF3. Not saying BF3 is bad or good, but it is different from C-S. It feels sluggish, weighty, 'fat', slow to react to your input. That is the developers desired feel/style, to make it feel like your a soldier in a war.
Get a programmer that made the movement of that game and ask him how he/she did it. Then do the opposite for C-S:GO.
Or tweak with the settings and values and post them here then update your first post with your favorite settings for all to try out.

I said it was blatantly false you can't jump longer then default(which is what you said), didn't say have to pre strafe to do it, I was talking about strafing in air. Given that your post is silly.

so in right but valve wont do anything.. be realistic
they are also not able to fix wasda shooting.

instead they implement new gungame and demolition maps and fix difficult bugs like a password protection for servers and correct demo play-back(What was that beta phase for?)

I actually beleive the aiming and shooting stuff to be more important that movement. I don't really see the problem.

Right now the community is pi$$ed off about matchmaking fail changes and I don't really think that pitching to significantly change the games mechanics is going to be either

a) high on the agenda, or
b) universally popular.

Airstrafe is not the only long jump technique in CSGO, one can also use the impulse jump which goes just a far.

The problem is you don't know what you're talking about. To make a game and call it counter-strike, while cutting out the movement dynamics is like playing a mario game without jumping.

And it better be on valve's radar, because players like me are losing interest by the day, and couldn't give a about the matchmaking feature.
