L4D(2) models cause silent crash

I've been tinkering with SFM for a while, made some posters, everything overall went well. Except that I can't spawn L4D1 nor 2 models. The MDL spawner will freeze for a few seconds, then SFM just disappears as if I closed it myself, leaving behind NO errors.
I don't know if there's a log I can get to, if there isn't, we might not solve the issue. I've had this issue with the Master Chief model from garrysmod.org, but the other TF2 and HL2 models work fine. What's the issue, and what's there I can do to fix it?

Download a program called Notepad++

Open up the problem model's .mdl file

The first 5 letters of the first line will read "IDST1" change it to ether "IDST0" or "IDST,"

This fixes most files

Eh, you need to do a little more to the models to get them to work. Look up Smashman's .bat script that fixes the models.

That is what I actually already tried, I should have listed that.
It still makes it crash, while it's IDST now. Will try the 0, but not expecting too much.
