LOL I had the same experience, tried to shoot my suspect and it end up hitting the guy at the back.

Second detective quest is also interesting and need a bit more logic work,but i solved it from first try ^_^

I shot the rocket launcher guy and he said "YEAH IT WAS ME AND I DON'T REGRET IT!"

That one got me stumped for a good while. Wasn't until I read an explanation behind it that I understood the logical approach. Granted the guilty had an obvious hint on the back but I didn't want to base my decision on just that.
