So how do you preload a game before buying it?
Steam support doesn't offer any clues. And Google just points out that this happens after a pre-purchase for an unreleased game. |

If it's avaliable it should be at the bottom of your Steam games list as if you've just bought it, with the option to install. Try restarting Steam (obviously as an owner of the game I can't confirm whether it's avaliable yet).

Whilst this is good in many ways I'm probably going to avoid the game this weekend. Well versus anyway. I don't mind helping newbs in campaign but it's too frustrating in versus.

If someone visits the store page, will this link or some other link or information about the free weekend be available? Don't you guys normally feature games in the store or have a news popup on steam for games with free weekends? |

Will there be an achievement for being friendly-fired 100 times in a single campaign?
![]() Joking aside, it'll be nice to get a new influx of players introduced to the game. It's been tougher to find good games lately, and these L4D nubs will become consistent and good players given time. ![]() Well, at least until the worst part of the competitive community chases them off.

But don't those primarily come out at night? During the day it seems to be mostly casuals and kids, but as it gets on towards the evening the more hardcore seem to show up. It makes me leery about playing during the evening, as I hate being votekicked.

Good. Now Xbox players can get a taste of the PC version. Wonder how that will go...

I really do wonder if people are going to show newbies the ropes or tell them to get off the game the minute they keep screwing up in VS.
