Hi riplix, thank you for putting together all the information and a demo file of a CS:GO cheater. We assigned a CS:GO official violation to their Steam account and they will not be able to play on official game servers.

This kind of seems like your sending serious mixed messages. Valve has always said they will not act on any reports of cheaters and that VAC handles all of that. I mean I'm happy if one less cheater is out there but I'd like your policy to remain consistent.

I like how you act quickly on cheaters instead of solely relying on VAC. It's great and hopefully greatly reduces amount of cheaters on ladder.

However, I hope you guys know the difference between skilled players and hackers. For those non-so-obvious cases out there, don't just watch a demo and inconclusively think a player's a hacker. Just remember in a game like CS, there will be cases of extreme luck. Or in other cases illegitimate but "decent" players that know how to deceive you.

I guess it's better to get rid of blatant extreme-end hackers (speed, aimbots, etc) and slowly remove those stealthy ones. Anyway, keep up the good work! The future of CS matchmaking rests on how well you can keep those hackers out!

On the subject of cheaters, I was shocked how many I encountered yesterday.

I totally did not believe the rumour's about hackers etc on GS:GO but im newly converted after holding an AK to several players heads and it doing zero damage....

It sounds like an official message that Valve will take a look at demos from now on (at least in CS:GO), but I guess you're aware of that.

It's very frustrating when you find a cheater because there is so little you can do, in best case scenario you can get him kicked from the server. But it also sounds like a lot of work for someone at Valve having to check all the demos?
