I think it's missing the highest res textures.

I hope they have some or all of these things back in final.

They coded out being able to switch to infected in the demo as well. Why? because it's stuff we're not meant to experience as demo users.

I suspect the split screen stuff will make any appearance in the future, the arguments regarding it being on the 360 due to live costs are a bit void - as however you spin it, it's still one person paying for the privilege of two people playing.

Yes, but did taking these out cause an 8+ page thread in their forums, protesting this? People don't protest cheat codes, sir, they protest Indian-giving and dubious behavior.

You have no claim on a feature just because you "found it" - even when you concede on the same line that it wasn't supposed to be found. This does not aid your argument.
No, but I would still take $50 if I found it in a wallet I purchased. Say I bought something with that $50, should it be taken away from me, because some moron left his $50 bill in that wallet?

I certainly wouldn't call it "Valve messing up" by leaving in a console command/feature - especially in a demo. You claim a logical time would have been to remove it when the full game comes out, but you completely ignore the demo is soon (now for me) available to everyone - thus leaving a possibly buggy and flawed impression on people who have not yet purchased the game.
Then why put it in the demo in the first place? To specifically jarate off the people who pre-ordered when they take it out of the demo? I know it was nice to have had it at all, but to just have it taken away a few days later?

Hi folks,

So splitscreen was always something we only wanted to officially support on the x360 due to the controller issues. However, we are planning on making some of the functionality work on the PC as an "unsupported" bonus feature. We turned it off for the demo because we didn't want to have to deal with any additional bug reports etc. about it interfering with the demo experience, but the current plan is to re-enable it after we launch the full product.

There are a number of tuning variables, the but tricky thing will be the controller. When testing, the best setup on the PC is to have two joystick/x360 style USB controllers. I think it will also be possible to have one keyboard/mouse and one joystick player.

I haven't looked into supporting two keyboards/mice, as I'm not even sure PC's can deal with that and I doubt we're talking about lots and lots of possible users for such a config.

Anyway, feel free to post this information around as appropriate.

Awesome! Thanks for clarifying, Yahn!

Can a mod sticky this?

But my main point is, the damage is ing done, give us splitscreen, Valve.

Give us split-screen, before you jarate a LOT of people off.
Your pink hearts aside, and yes, I do see Yahn posted above but:

I guess you weren't around when Valve left in the code to unlock all of the achievements for TF2 after an update. Or how some console commands that weren't under the sv_cheats 1 heading were able to be used in Counter-Strike: Source for a considerable amount of time.

These things happen, code is left in, things are simply forgotten about. It's happened before and it'll happen again, but it really doesn't give you or anybody the right to raise hell over a feature that was never announced as coming to the PC version of the title to begin with.

Agreed, I've only really been on these forums actively for the past week but I've seen enough over-reactions to last a life time.

If you're having to access it via the console, the chances are that you're probably not meant to be doing it. Everything Valve want people to experience right now has an interface. A demo really isn't designed to hold up to console level scrutiny - which it's receiving!

Hell, GTA San Andreas had a load of content included on the disc that landed Rockstar in hot water, or should I say Hot Coffee.

Read more than one of my posts before you assume that this was my only point in the argument. The point is, you can't apply this to being able to cheat in CSS without SV_cheats on, or hacking achievements in TF2. This is a feature, albeit originally having been meant for the Xbox360 players, that the PC players were given access to. I was not overreacting about a cheat, I was given access to something that I would have wanted to use, and that would have only benefited me, the customer, and yet it was removed.

You expressed your extreme desire to have splitscreen in an immature manner. I have no problem with you loving splitscreen, or wanting it in the game. I just think you should have worded your posts a bit better.

My apologies, I can be a monster sometimes if someone says something that strikes a nasty chord with me.
