"Failed to init Ageia physics SDK"

After clicking play a black screen just shows up and you can hear the error message in the background. After alt tabbing I find this error message:

.\nx\PskMainNX.cpp
[51]
: error: Assertment failed!
Message: Failed to init Ageia physics SDK

Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix it?

I've just had the same happen to me this evening after installing the latest Nvidia 310.70 drivers. Even though I told the installer NOT to install the newer Physx driver as I was using the old version which worked with Velvet Assassin, it went ahead and installed it anyway.

This worked for me.

Uninstall Physx and reinstall the driver from here.

Or you could install the latest Physx drivers 9.12.1031 and also install the legacy Physx drivers to enable compatability with older games from here... http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9...cy-driver.html
Works great for me with Velvet Assassin and Medal Of Honor Airborne.

I had this exact problem myself

I have and ATI 6950

I fixed this by making sure there was no nvidia PhysX on my system, then installing "AGEIA PhysX v7.07.09"
from a file on my old Medal of Honor Airborne disk

now it is working great

the file is named

PhysX_7.07.09_SystemSoftware (about 25 mb)

I posted this on the top 4 threads that might help people
