Question Realtek 3D SoundBack: How to make it work best?

Regarding Ys Origin.

At the default configuration of 60 max buffers and 30 min buffers the sound fx occasionally crackles and the positioning of the audio is frequently pretty wrong, it also sounds like the EAX 2.0 effects occasionally fail for periods of time and then come back.

I'm completely unfamiliar with what the buffer settings actually mean and how one should judge what to set them to. Googling help regarding this topic yields no useful information, some people say to use certain settings for certain games but with no explanation as to why those settings work.

Do Realtek and Creative both want there users to just randomly change the 2 settings until it works or is there some kind of better method? (Yes Creative ALchemy also has the same settings and also excludes any info about them)

Nevermind, i learned that Alchemy, 3D Sound Back and similar programs will never produce the correct audio unless you have a soundcard that has proper hardware support for EAX 4.0 and older. If your soundcard does not support EAX 4.0 and older via hardware than these programs will instead use a very ty software emulation of them reagrdless of how their configured.

Good thing Creative no longer makes any soundcards with hardware support for EAX 4.0 and older.
