It could just be based off dropped weapons, those are server-side I think.

I'm actually rather fond of the tracking idea, personally. If you get tracked, it means you are at a huge disadvantage until you (or your team) manage to assassinate the GD tracking you - and he'll know you're coming. Assuming you work with a team, it fills an almost "commander" niche no other class does: remotely monitoring the behaviors of key players when not in combat with them.

Amazing work! You honestly had me believing this was going to be the 10th class Valve was rumored to be working on, as the concept was very well thought out and the art was great! This is actually a concept I think would work in game, as a doggy could run around the battlefield picking up medkits/items and ferrying them back to the rest of the team. This would give engineers a chance to set up in places that aren't immediately near a mid/large ammo box as a dedicated dog player could focus on getting them that metal early on to set up.


The only overpowered thing I can think of is the scent tracking ability as it is would be a little too good. The spy would just be much too weak against the guard dog which makes sense thematically, but there is already a dedicated spy killer out there out there(the pyro). If the spy could cover his scent somehow with a disguise, at least for long distances, this ability would be a little more balanced.
