So, how do you heavies deal with players who use the knockback to get away?
Rather than running a straight line away from a heavy who will clearly gun you down, I tend to jump up and down and "ride" the knockback away from the gunner at mid range.
I've noticed this only works with guns that arent the natacha of course. |

Considering that the Heavy's nature is to force back enemies, its a win-win when you think of it.

that doesn't really work if you have less than 200 health.

Err... it works with all health ranges. It actually works better on pyros/medics/scouts cause they are so light.
Remember, the speed bonus gets you to safety faster, you are harder to track, and falloff. Done right, you really don't take too much damage. (Anything beats dead so...) |

You're not going to ride anything at the range where knockback actually becomes significant enough to glide around because you'll be just plain dead.
And I'm fairly certain all classes but heavy have the same knockback vulnerability |

I'm not saying that you get away from close range (alive). But at mid range where it could take a ~second of focused fire to kill you, jumping and weaving will save you a fair amount of the time. As for the different weight thing, I know with the new pyro weight I've been knocked back more. Not 100% sure about all other classes. I still 'feel' a difference but I could be wrong. |

I do remember riding bullets being effective before the 119th update, but I'm still not convinced it works if you have <200hp with today's broken heavy.

Hop and a server and try it? Cause I do it every time I play... literally. His damage hasn't (really) changed, his rev time has. So react sooner and you are fine. |

Theres nothing you can do about it. Youre not supposed to be effective at midrange. All you can do is make sure you tear it up in close range.

I've never encountered anyone good enough to utilize that.
