Game purchase declined

So I've been a long time (2004) steam user and purchaser with hundreds of games and gifted games under my account.

I just tried to gift modern warfare 2 to a friend on my steamlist and it didn't work. At first it didn't explain why and just said "there was an error accessing whatever" but now in my purchase history it just says "failed".

and like it shows in that second pic, it was "pending" for a while until it failed, which never happened before. I had a game purchase fail before but it was instant and I didn't have to wait 30mins for it to show as failed. So is this a Steam problem?

I just called my bank and confirmed with a representative that my CC is in good standing as usual and I shouldnt have a problem purchasing anything online. Anyone getting this error as well?

Yes I am aware of that, however it failed, the recipient didn't get his gift and I got a confirmation email that the transaction failed.. for apparently no reason?

I tested again this time purchasing a cheap game for myself and it didn't work either.

trying to buy the weekend deal and it got stuck on working then failed.

i would just wait seems its on there side.

Failed for me too, attempting to use Visa. I had to use my paypal account in order for it to go through.

I was just able to purchase Mass Effect so looks like things are ok again.
You guys still having problems?
