DayZ and Arma 2 : Operation Arrowhead

Is Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead a separate game from Arma 2?
So if I just got Operation Arrowhead and not Arma 2 would it work?
And if I just got Arma 2 : Operation Arrowhead without Arma 2 would DayZ work?

You need both in order to play DayZ and I'm pretty sure you need Arma 2 to play Operation Arrowhead.

Correct. Just buy what you're missing. For example if you have A2 but not OA, just buy OA and you will be able to run both, and combined ops.
