Angry Call of Duty: United Offensive - Unplayable ("unlocalized")

A few days ago I bought the Call of Duty: War Chest (COD 1, 2, United Offensive). From Steam, both 1 and 2 play fine on this slimline and an 11" ACER laptop but on this slimline EVERY time I boot up UO I get errors

I've tried English (native language), French and Italian, not one works. On the laptop it always crashes so I can't even boot up.

My specs:
Motherboard Chipset - nVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE, AMD Hammer
Processor: DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3800+
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit

When I am in the game:

- Task Manager WILL START - but trying to get it to stay ontop of the game is nearly impossible
- Getting ANYTHING to be over the game is impossible
- If I exit to the desktop without exiting the game I get a very low resolution and VERY white screen (like much brighter)

I have tried Deleting the game data HALF a dozen times and reodnwload and it's ALWAYS the same. The few times I HAVE gotten the game to play it plays fine untill having to get to the jeep in which case it 'freezes' - the jeep won't move, nearly no noise except the gun (which I can fine) and the other two in the jeep will move their heads.

Same problem here, apparently no one knows what's up with this stuff... maybe Steam Support can help you?
