Makes great sense when you read about the reasons. Good way to keep Dear Esther around longer, and on more platforms!

I'm relieved to see that the screenshots keep the same feel and lighting and water effects as the Source version. That can't have been easy, switching engines and keeping everything the same.

I hope this means official Oculus Rift support too!

I'm assuming that this is still being worked on? Apparently the port was nearly finished, but then Robert Briscoe decided to move to Valve (saying that if he couldn't do the remaining work in his spare time then others at thechineseroom could finish up his work on the DE port):
