DLC Key is not working!
Hey guys,
2 days ago i bought the DAO:Ultimate Edition on steam. All in all the game is working, but my DLC-Key isnt.... On the one hand some of the DLCs are already installed(active) but on the other hand its not authoriszed. I tried to redeem the code on the bioware-webside, but it isnt working. The key is already in use, but i havent redeem it.... What to do guys? I had no problems with the registration of the DAO:Ultimate Edition, but DLC-Key is not working for me ![]() regards, |

I don't think you actually need the "DLC Key" for anything. Once you register your Ultimate edition through the bioware social site, it should automatically enable all of the DLC that the Ultimate edition gives you the next time you log onto your bioware account in game.
If you're still having problems, try asking over at the bioware forums, you'll probably get better help there. |

Ah... the unauthorized dlc bug... I've never had it happen to me so I don't know what it actually does, but supposedly it messes up DLC, and supposedly patch 1.05 fixed it for a bunch of people.
I really don't know much beyond that. Can you "Enable" your DLC in the DLC menu under "Installed Content"? If you can't then it's probably the bug. You know what... come to think of it... I think there was some issue where steam didn't update everyone to 1.05 properly. Check your game version Launcher => Configure => Game Tab DAOrigins.exe version number is what you want. If it's not 1.05 go here and download it manually. Quote:
If it's working properly, it should show up in the "Other Campaigns" menu. If it shows up see if it loads. Just on a side note, the game stores saves separately based on Campaigns, and only the currently selected campaign's saves are listed in the "load game" menu, so if you do manage to get it working and can't find your old saves, that's probably what happened and you'll need to switch back to the regular campaign. |

Working solution
Hi,
i just tried a bit around and got it working with path 1.04 from steam. I use Win7 64bit, not tested on other systems, but should work as well. Basically I guess that the steam-installation is lacking the rights to install a needed system-service thats needs to be running during play to authenticate content. Navigate to your steam directory and go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age Ultimate Edition\redist" and execute with "RUN AS ADMINISTATOR" the following files: DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam.exe DAUServiceSetup_Steam.exe This will successfull register the "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" that needs to be running during play. After installation you can start this service manually: [Windows]+[R] and run "services.msc", navigate to "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" and press "start". If you want it running all the time (i.e. after reboot) you can setup this service as autostart in the preferences. If you now start DA:O from Steam (Ver. 1.04) your DLC is hopefully successfully authenticated! Have fun and a nice weekend! |
