Serverzz :)
Hey Guys, im about to create a character on
Argonnessen just coz I like the name Which brings me to the point that there are no server descriptions of any kind xD which kinda sucks coz I like to know how new or old and how populated the server is and if they are regional at all coz I am in Australia so if a game has Australian and Oceanic servers its always good to know or I get stuck with the very late nighters as always xD At least knowing if a server is new would be nice coz its nice to play with other new players when u are new If anyone knows anything about the servers pls let me know as I often restart after my first character

Check the official forums: http://forums.ddo.com/
All servers are basically the same age. There hasn't been a new sever in ages outside of the German server. In fact a few years ago many servers were shut down and merged into what there is today. There are no ANZ servers and just the one German centric server. There are high EU populations on a couple servers like Thelanis. But check the DDO forums and the wiki for server info. |

My main server i game on is argonnessen. For the australian time zone, you will find mostly the very early hours of the morning up to mid afternoon will have a lot of activity going on. Night time in australia, the server does not have many public groups advertised at all.
I know of australian players that switch servers at night to participate in more events but there are a handfull of us that hang out on argo and stick it out throgh the quiet times. In terms of lag and connection issues, it seems to be about the same on all servers, there are times it is crazy lag and times when there isn't. It seems to affect all players around the world from what i have expereinced in groups though not everyone gets it at the same time. At the moment, if you experience unbearable lag, closing the game and then reloading can often solve some of it. Logging out and switching characters in itself isn't enough as the switching of characters is often what causes the game to go slow, though a quick logout and log back in can solve some glitches that occur like not being able to release a character on death. From the info i have read and heard, argonnessen is an older server, probably not among the oldest. The most popular (well vocally present on forums) seems to be khyber. Wayfinder is the newer more recent server. |
