Give my 5 bucks and a day and i can make something better than GFWL, it is as bad as Origin.
Time wasted fixing Dead Rising 2 = over 24 hours
Time playing = none

Gonna find the crack and someway to play online with it...

I too wasted £5 buying the game on the PC during the halloween sales
I fired up DR2 and up popped the GFWL Live box. I stared in horror and quickly hit cancel and uninstalled right there and then. I had wasted WEEKS using that pos back when the superb Fallout 3 was released and I have never returned to that game because of GFWL.

Anyone defending such a disastrous piece of 'software' needs help. All it results in is a lot of wasted time, which should not be the case for a PC game.

OK.
After so many hours wasted, i've finally managed how to make it work.
-If you don't use GFWL in a good time, it's likely that they've updated the Privacy and whatchamacalit, and you can't log in until you accept it. Since MS is really smart, as we have dscussed it already, you need to open the games for windows market client, without the game. Then, in the log on screen, you click on "create new account", trust me, after you are redirected, use the email of your existing account, he'll ask for the password too, you enter it, and finally, you can accept the online terms.
-Second, check again your port forwarding, after i've redone mine it seemed to work, these are the ports needed:
-80 TCP.
-3074 UDP & TCP.
-88 UDP
-53 UDP & TCP
-443 TCP

That worked for me, finally get to play...

Downloaded and played for a bit.
Save by checkpoints. Crappy zombie whackamole gameplay. Naff control system that reeks of console port. All of which i can tolerate to a certain degree.
GFW? Ten minutes to get it to log in, a further 15 to register (fail after fail after fail) just so I can save my game? Seconds to uninstall.

I can put up with a game that is not wholly to my tastes but I will not tolerate having to log in just so I can save a game especially when the save system is cack.

Kicking myself for not checking for GFW first. Will not touch a game that comes with it unless there is a way of cauterising that garbage and killing it with fire.
