My originalish friendly fire suggestion:

If a player shoots someone more then once and then is kicked all damage done by that player in the last lets say 20 seconds should be negated. This would solve 95% of griefer issues. Similarly if someone suicides(There is a clear distinction between getting/boomed/smoker/punched/hunted off a ledge in engine currently you can tell because it gives you points when you instakill someone) and then is kicked within lets say 20 seconds there character should be respawned in the same state it was in. I don't see how this could be easily abused and I think it would massively help the griefing problem.

As far as I know the engine can't tell the difference between a death pull and a suicide, other idea is good though.


You know Valve will never do this though, right?

I'm sure you get points from booming someone off the edge I think you do from a pull also, infact I'm pretty sureish can someone confirm?

I'd have to double check but I'm 90% sure you don't get points for it.

I know you get points when you boom someone off the edge not sure about smoker ): I'm sure valve could find a way to tell the difference between a death pull/pounce/boom/punch and a suicide though.

Only possible abuse I could see is if the team kicks the guy then lets him come back in to negate accidental damage from FF. SO anytime they take to much ff they just kick and re-invite.

MY APOSTROPHE KEY IS NOT WORKING.

I am pretty sure you get one point for smoker and hunter instakills, but I do not know about Boomers.

It depends on how much damage you do as the smoker before the person falls and dies. You might get 0 points, but if it's a long pull you might get a few. As for pile drivers, it works the same. Boomer knocks offs only get you points if CI hit the guy before he falls. Otherwise, zip.

I death pulled 2 people in one map on DA and had zero points to my name. They were quick no damage pulls though. I assume it works the same for hunter, someone might have to fact check me on that, I don't recall. Boomer knock offs I am fairly sure on though. No points without CI hitting them.

Well doesnt (WHAT THE , APOSTROPHE) the hunter and smoker get one point just for connecting a pounce or pulling a little distance?

That would make the most sense. As for boomer, I dont have a clue.

I thought so as well, but I have death pulled and just regular pulled as a smoker and got no points whatsoever. As for a hunter, I have had a guy pounced for 2+ seconds and got 0 points. Could be a bug, or could be, well, heck if I know. I also once landed a 20 point pounce and got 0 points. I normally don't pay attention to points, but there are those times when I do something well, (a rare occasion) and look to see how much I got and ... nothing?!

If you pounce a survivor who is being pulled or standing up after being pulled, damage pounces do no damage, and there's a slightly longer than normal delay until you start dealing damage.

There, a few free ones for you.

Anywho. Just pouncing (w/o height bonus) gives ZERO points. You have to stay on for a little while to start getting points. I think it's the same for smoker. The points start a few feet into the pull. If the victim is free'd (sp?) right away = ZERO points.

Points are quite simple guys. It's based on the damage you do.
Boomer bile does no damage, so no points.
Insta-kills is a physics based death, so it's not you doing the damage. Therefor no points.
A hunter DP'ing a person, would give points and if you don't receive in that case, it's a bug.

This is incorrect, you get points when you boom someone off the edge 100% confirmed and it says "player1 killed player2"

You don't get points if it doesn't do damage like if you land on them to soon after a pull.

Also incorrect, since a patch a while ago pouncing on someone without height bonus deals one damage hence giving you 2 points.

This might cause an issue where someone will simply jump off the edge when on low health or black and white to (hopefully) respawn in a more advantageous position.
