So, now what? What do L4D players get?

We were lied to about content, updates, and serious support of L4D.

The ideas users posted on this forum to implement into those promised updates for L4D were simply taken and used to a "new repackage product" that is to be sold for $50 with NO discount to L4D players/beta testers.

No serious support or integration for L4D to L4D2 seems to be set up.

Bug's, imbalance, lack of support and problems remain as L4D is left for dead to rot.

What's next?

A consolation prize in the form of a sequel?

nothing, I am sure valve has buried it 6 feet under, I would not be surprised if there were no more dlc's. Even the l4d1 site is gone, replaced by l4d2.

Know I thought that was pretty rude also, Like why did you turn the L4D blog into L4D2 Blog :x
it really does look bad when they do that >.>, like oh the old one wont get many if any updates so we may as well just use this spot and not make a new page for the L4D2 Blog.

This has been said before, but they don't owe you anything.

Most games aren't updated after a year from release. If they are, it's just bugfixes.

Even bugfixes within the first year would have been nice. There's still some pretty seriously annoying bugs in the game.

To me the true problem is not the lack of new content. It would've been enough to have bug fixes,a full SDK out at release and, more of all,it would've been enough if they would've left the game and community grow up for 2-3 years. These are the basics of every multiplayer game, and with L4D they failed in delivering a good service.

What's next?

They have answered that question already. More content is forthcoming.
It won't come until some time after L4D2 launches though. They aren't going to pull anyone off of L4D2 to work seriously on L4D until they are sure everything is working as desired after launch.

I also don't see any real imbalances in L4D. We play VS almost every night and enjoy very close games. The "numerous" bugs people speak of can actually be counted on one hand and none of them are that big of a deal.
