Skeeting hunters

is wack on 250 ping,
I know the timings for anything from 1-250 ping on meleeing hunters, but skeeting them has the weirdest timing in the world and I have no idea how people skeet everytime. for those of you that skeet 95% of the time (with pump shotty) you get props from this pub machine

Really? I find melee timing with 200+ ping absolutely impossible and completely random but skeeting seems doable. I can skeet on euro servers but no way can I melee. Try setting your cl_interip to 0.025 if you're playing with 250 ping.

What's cl_interip?
Skeeting to me seems impossible pretty much anytime, timing is so weird for me but some days when i play i can melee almost every hunter i see(take in note im not playing the best people)

meleeing on 200 or 250 ( i dont remember) is like 1-1.5 seconds before they pounce (if theyre on ground level like 5 feet in front)
and out of sky its a LOT of distance like you melee 2 seconds before they should hit you,
i have no idea for anything 300+ it seems completely umplayable

Frame rate has a lot to do with it as well. Aim well in front of the hunter and melee/shoot spam as needed. The timing you use for a dead stop should be an indicator for ho much you lead the hunter. Use the ol' shoot melee, shoot melee, spam trick to deal with fps/connection lag. So even if you don't skeet you dead stop em then shoot em.

I don't really stick around in games when I have a bad connection like that these days so maybe someone else has a better idea?

I can melee fine with 150-200 ping, but trying to get a pump skeet with that ping is almost impossible. The pounce registers before they get into skeetable range, unless you get super lucky with the shotgun spread.

Well I can dead stomp most times but when I switch the shooting with the melee(shoot at the time i usually melee) it never works

I play with europeans a lot, so I get 200-300 ping a lot and they do too. We can all dead stomp pretty well on that ping but skeeting just seems random to me. We tested on 5 ping and I would have to shoot the hunter high in the sky to kill it.

I'd rather get my timing perfect so I just shoot and melee once and the shot kills it

cl_interp is the command. It determines how much the game interpolates between updates sent from the server. For L4D you should always set it at 0.067, because that's the distance between updates sent from the server. If you set it higher, it will start be inaccurate, things won't be where they're supposed to be all the time. If you set it lower, things will start to jitter, and it will be harder to hit moving targets.

Short version: cl_interp 0.067 - Always.

Jack: Shooting a hunter in mid-air while it's pouncing. More specifically in this thread, one-shotting with the pump shotty.

UNCLE™CAFFEINE answered it. It's shooting down a Hunter in air that's in the middle of a pounce.

No this is wrong. 0.067 if you're always getting 67 ping, 0.01 for 100 0.025 for 250. I hate you. It makes a noticeable improvement for me anyways when playing on euro servers.
