I see Eurogamer gave you a great score, same guys who gave Pokemon 85%, I rest my case.

From the comments on the article:

I tried the Daggerdale demo and I was amazed that games like this could still be made.

The animation on the cutscene characters is laughable - it's PS2-era at-best. Then there's the lack of any feel to the combat, the way the camera makes you lose your bearings constantly, the identikit environments which compound that and the way it constantly chops between the game and these pointless little talking heads "do this next" things - out before the migraine, basically.

I love hack and slash - throw loot at me and I'm as happy as a pig-in-poop - but this just felt like I'd found a 10-year-old game which strangely worked on a 360...

It gets 7/10 then Steel Storm, a cheaper title, is criticised for being repetive and bland (Daggerdale in the dictionary) and gets less - erm what?

I'm disappointed in these download reviews generally - a random selection played for a randomly short amount of time and given apparently random scores!?

That is a bad review by a bad reviewer, they mention nothing about unlocking chase-view mode, the cell shading in the game, the wide open maps on some levels, the number of levels for an indie game, etc. judging from some of the comments made in the review I presume the game was too hard for them or they only played it for a very short time.

Theres always going to people who don't "get" a game, or just plain bad reviewers.
Just seems alot of them work for gaming websites :/

Total Biscuit posted a pretty positive review of the game on youtube, once he stopping being a baffoon in the first vid he did. (edit: I see you already stickied that one)

I am not a reviewer by anymeans, but I might do a user review on metacritic later, I personally think this game is great. It fills a gap that not many games do these days.

I actually tried recording some gameplay of this to upload to youtube, but for some reason I got really bad framerates when running fraps with this game, which seems kinda odd, but such is life using fraps.

vsync on, FRAPS SET TO 60... however I can't do that with dynamic lights on... frames hit is way too great....
I still need to get further along before uploading anything... sorry slow like that, must be my olde age...

sorted aka (d*u*b)

peace z, the weekly thing sounds like a great idea, only caveat is that you have to organize it. perhaps dm, ctf, mad scramble... etc. ;-) peace kiddo

I submitted it as a tip to Kotaku, hopefully they will review it. I submitted it for its linux distribution through steam and asked for it to be reviewed

We've been trying to get on Kotaku for some time with no luck but maybe with more people pushing for it it will happen.

i've started a giveaway in this thread to help you with the "objectively written description".

feel free to pick one, and let us know which one is it (in case you choose one), coz the author of said description will get a free copy of SS from me. so it's in your hands to choose "the winner"
