Can't launch risen 2?

I couldn't launch Risen 2, I didn't even get the Risen 2 logo at first until I restarted my PC after the installation. Now it works flawlessly. You might try to do that before trying anything else.

I pre-ordered the game on Steam and all I got was headaches. Have same problem as most, logo with ''Risen 2: Dark Water'' comes up for 1-2 seconds, then just back to desktop ,no error, nothing, I restarted PC, set audio to 2 channels with Surround, tried other options too, I just can't start the game, I meet requirements, on Windows 7 Ultimate fully updated and drivers also. Similar problem with Gothic 1 and 2 too. Anyone that has info on this, please help me.

In that situation it may help to try running the .exe directly - if the .exe fails with a prerequisite steam may not show the error.

Still... that's no guarantee an error will show up.

Go to sounds -> playback -> choose speakers -> Configure;
If you have 7.1 surround, change it to 5.1 / Quadraphonic

I tried that too, 5.1/quadrophonic/stereo , for me nothing helps
