persistent halo around char

My character has a continuous soul trap-style halo. It showed up the same time I got the glowing-eye effect. It is annoying in the extreme during dark or bad visibility during weather. I fixed the glowing eye problem by adding, then removing the draugr abilities in the console. I have soul-trapped several creatures, absorbed 3-5 dragon souls since this showed up, and it will not go away.

Anyone have a fix/solution for this? Thanks for any info!

Have you done the Boethiah Ebony Mail quest? The Ebony Mail has a persistent "smoke" effect on it.

A pic would be useful.

What he said. The glowing eye effect you can get rid of like this:

- In third person, open the console and enter "player.addspell 000f71d1"

- Close the console and notice a slight darkening around your character

- Open the console again and enter "player.removespell 000f71d1"

- Close the console and your eyes should stop glowing.

I don't know about the other because I've never heard of it before.

If you could tell me how to post a pic, that would be helpful. I looked on the FAQ, and I don't see the button mentioned.

Hit F12 in game to take a screen shot, you need Steam community running in the bg for that. When you leave the game the screen shot manager will pop up and you have the option to upload it to your personal community area.
Once it's uploaded select view full size on that shot, right click on the screen shot online and select copy page URL and post in here.

screen cap of halo

Sorry, RL reared its head. Here's the url for the screenshot:

It doesn't look too bad here, but gets worse in first person, and looking at anything below eye level.

Looks like the fog similar to the armor you can get from the Boethiah Ebony Mail quest as DanielCoffey mentioned.

Your armor looks custom, check the armor stats for what enchantments they have.

Are you using an ENB? If so try disabling SSAO.

Thanks for all of the replies!

I have a radeon HD6970 (12.6 cats), and no ENB mods that I know of. I unequipped all of the dragonbone armor, with no change. There are no spell effects left on her, except for dibella's blessing, force w/o effort, gift of charity, and well-rested. I did have the ebony mail, but I equipped and unequipped it again, and no change. The halo effect is much more like the effect when you trap a soul with soul trap.

Mods are: Paarthunax fix, stones of Barenziah, realistic ragdolls and force, highres packs 1 and 2, chopping block/fires fix, ask follower skills, akaviri samurai armor, dragon bone weapons complete, ebony blade fix, buffed giant, loreius farm expansion.
