I was going though my wishlist and I noticed I had Infernal on my list.
But when I clicked on it, I get redirected to the main steam page. |

I've just completed the game and was about to post a little review, so I too tried to go to the store page - alas as you've mentioned it the game is no longer there.
I don't quite know what about this game compelled me to complete it, many of the more modern games of this genre leave me cold. It's very linear, the puzzles mostly being how you get from one place to another, and the story line is as corny as hell, but it was still compelling and I've enjoyed playing it. |

Humm, another secret removal.
I understand that a game my be removed from sale but when they remove the store page along with it goes all the game info and manual if they have one. All they have to do is add a no longer available to the page. |

Agreed. I have several games that are no longer offered on steam. Going to the main store page is uninformative.
I think though all the assets are there still. I dug some out long ago but it takes various item ID style links. I'd much more like your idea where the store page stays as it was but simply deactivate the ability to purchase. More than once have I wondered if something has been removed from my steam library listing -- very had to tell with many games. IE: the little Half-Life 2D game that used to come with the valve complete pack. Can't find it anywhere within the client -- my community games list, library, store, etc. If I didn't have a backup of it somewhere I wouldn't even know that I bought it anymore AFAIK. |

Actually they removed Terminator Salvation today
. True not much of a game, but it was on my list for a $5 or less buy.

Same here. That was one of those rainy day items I'd never yet been compelled to go ahead and buy.
As long as they don't also just wipe transaction info we're able to view too. ;-) I sure wish valve would add a way to get transaction data in CSV form. Other stuff would be nice too.. Gift info for example. The ways the info is available doesn't lend itself well allowing customer auditing of their portfolio. They should. After all some people have very substantial investments within steam. I suppose it could be done, partly by payment source, however that can vary by using multiple payment types and doesn't involve gift movement. Similar reasons it makes sense to keep old product pages, especially with lack of transaction export info, to help customers do simple audits of their dealings with valve. I may submit a request for a transaction dump of my account just to see what they have to say. They'd do it for paypal or the court so why not the actual customer.. |
